Yusuke Yamani, Ph.D.

Dr. Yamani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology (Human Factors) and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Old Dominion University. He received a M.S. in Human Factors and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Visual Cognition and Human Performance) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Dr. Yamani also majored in Philosophy at the State University of New York at Geneseo. His research interests include how attention interacts with technology and constrains applied human performance. Dr. Yamani is a Fellow of Psychonomic Society and American Psychological Association (Division 21: Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology) and serves as an Associate Editor for Human Factors Journal and for Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied. Dr. Yamani serves as the Vice Chair of the Perception and Performance Technical Group (PPTG) for HFES during 2025.
